Intrinsic rewards, like personal growth or the joy of learning, would motivate me to choose courses that align with my interests and passions. On the other hand, extrinsic rewards, such as certifications, career advancement, might influence me to select courses that offer clear external benefits, and I’d likely focus on achieving those outcomes to meet my goals. Both types of rewards play a role, but intrinsic motivation tends to drive deeper engagement for me.

Personally, intrinsic rewards would not really impact my choices about online courses to a huge extent. Extrinsic rewards however, would motivate me to continue further and expand my knowledge by making me focus on new courses. It may sound a bit greedy, but such types of rewards would force me to put as much effort as I can

Mostly certificates and promotions drive me to strive for excellence.

The intrinsic reward is in the form of a sense of accomplishment, learning new things and being effective and effective at work.

I enjoy both the personal and outside rewards that come with online courses. When a course is about something I’m interested in, learning feels satisfying on its own. At the same time, I like the real benefits, like earning certificates or learning skills for my career, which help me stay focused. These motivations together make me want to put in effort and get the most out of my online classes.

Intrinsic rewards, such as personal satisfaction and a sense of achievement, can motivate you to choose courses that genuinely interest you. If you find the material engaging, you’re likely to invest more time and effort because you enjoy the process of learning itself.

On the other hand, extrinsic rewards like certificates, promotions, or pay raises can drive you to complete courses that may not be as engaging but offer clear benefits. If you know a course could enhance your resume or lead to financial gain, you might be more inclined to enroll and work hard, even if the subject isn’t your passion.

I believe that both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards are needed in order to keep pursuing an online course. If you get only

intrinsic rewards you might find yourself in hollow state since at the end of the day you aren't getting any kind of reward to show for it or use it in any kind of capacity . On the other hand having just extrinsic rewards could prove difficult to make you pursue any kind of course since you aren't really enjoying what you're doing just for the end reward. That in itself cant give anyone enough drive to keep pushing on .These are the reasons that make me think that both rewards are needed for success in an online course.

From what I have come to learn, the average certificate has lost its worth over the years, so when learning to look for a career i think most employers will look for experience rather than a course certificate, thus i believe doing something for intrinsic rewards and for the sake of actually learning it is more valuable.
