Kudos to all! I think all the planning behind-the-scenes for the online lesson is very similar to our withdrawal plan. As ironic as it seems, we must really thank the pandemic for forcing us to jump into the cold ocean of technology. It is a bridging platform where we teachers and students can speak on the same wavelength. There is no age limit to learning and today I learn a lot of new things in Zoom and it is a rewarding experience. However, online platform requires different methods of delivering the lesson. One LBS from another TG actually allowed her student to randomly pick the choice colour of the star for her token board and she could easily make the changes since it was done on Google doc. Though it is an online class, it sets the tone of the lesson. Communication must be clear and specific while engaging the students virtually. In our role as an AED (LBS), not only do we have to continue learning to acquire knowledge, but we have to be versatile, resourceful and keep up with technology.

We must clarify what are their needs. You must always plan ahead and be prepared to have changes and how to use contingency to back up your plans. I love the creativity and well thought process of TG2 video lessons. There is always check in with student and use of verbal affirmative phrases that will encourage the students to continue to do their best, making the effort. As LBS, we need to continuously modify our strategies as it is not a size fit all method, we just continue to customise and innovate. One thing I learn from the video lessons, it is about time management in teaching a lesson, often I find myself not able to cover everything, then I would think back if I am just too greedy at what I want, making it hard for me to seem like grasping for straws many times. It goes without saying that alot of planning, tweaking of the lesson plan and coordination needs to be done before a session and that itself would not guarantee success for the student to meet the objectives set for the lesson. Not every lesson can be done over zoom and can be really difficult to model as well.
