  • Receptionists help the doctor by filling out forms, nurses help by taking height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and help doctors. Doctors check children using different tools.
  • The doctor that checks children is called a pediatrician.
  • We can see bones in an X-ray photo. The broken bone looks different than other bones. This is how we find broken bones in X-rays.
  • There are warning signs in an X-ray machine. We should not be with the patient when an X-ray is taken.
  • X-ray light can not be seen by the naked eye.
  • Broken bones can be fixed by using a cast which helps bones heal by not letting them move.
  • There are traditional ways to make a cast. We learned how to make a cast.The 
  • X-ray machine has an X-ray light on one side and the x-ray film on the other side of the bone to be checked.
  • Blood pressure is the pressure of blood inside the blood vessels in our body.
  • Heart contracts and relaxes for blood to move and this is why we get two numbers for blood pressure.
  • Blood pressure monitors measure our blood pressure. They can also measure our heart rate.
  • Good blood pressure means our heart and body are healthy. Unhealthy blood pressure makes us not feel good or sick.
  • We need to have healthy habits to have good blood pressure.
  • Dentists are the doctors who take care of our teeth
  • When we eat sugary food and don’t brush our teeth we get cavities in our teeth, they look brown.
  • We learned to properly brush our teeth and use flossing.
  • If our body temperature is more than 37.6 degrees Celsius, it means we have a fever.
  • Doctors use a stethoscope to listen to the heart and lungs and they find from the sound if they are working fine.
  • Doctors use an Ophthalmoscope to check eyes, Otoscope to check the eye, ear, and mouth to see if there is an infection, which looks different in colour.
  • Doctors use a Reflex hammer to check if our muscles are strong.
