We worked as a team to search the fields outside to find evidence. I searched a pile of tires with around 5 other people and together we found a cell phone.

Evidence 2: Army drills

One day we were all split into teams to practice teamwork drills. There were 3 activities in total. Working together to stack some tires in a specific order. In another activity we had to make it over a gap using only a plank that we had to balance. In the final activity we had to move a "bomb" using rope that we had to get around the "bomb".

In teams we had to take photos of various objects(and Laura) found around the college and Barnsley. As a team we split up to do it as fast as possible. Since we could cover more ground, we were able to do it relatively quickly.

Reusable bags

I always keep and use the reusable bags that I get from the shop.

This helps reduce the amount of waste that can be produced(whilst also helping me save money).

Sustainability talk

In a tutorial lesson we had someone come in and talk to us about sustainability. We all made sustainability posters in groups and watched a video about waste.

It went well because we all learned interesting statistics about waste in the UK.

Personally I believe that there wasn't a bad thing about the talk, it was just a little bit hard to pay attention at times.

Low use of paper

In lessons I put all of my notes on my phone. Although environmental reasons are not the cause of this(I have writing difficulties so it is easier to type on my phone) it is a nice added bonus. There are no downsides of using my phone for notes, as there is less of a chance to loose my notes on my phone, then to loose and waste paper.

1-Explain the activity
We had to present a PowerPoint to the class, detailing some facts about ourselves. The PowerPoint was roughly 2 minutes long, with a brief dive into my interests and career choices, adding a few funny parts as I have a jokey personality.
2-What went well?
It allowed me to open up to my piers more than I ever thought I would. It made me feel more comfortable in College.
3-What would you improve on reflection?
I would probably take out a few of the funny parts and be slightly more serious.

I was interviewed by a member of staff. I showed my GCSE results, filled out a few surveys and got my photocard.
2-What went well?
I had everything pre prepared. My GCSE results were rather high, and I arrived 15 minutes early.
3-What would you improve on reflection?
I would probably speak a bit clearer.

I was talking to my friend who was going through some personal problems and was sad.
2-What went well?
I helped him feel better and convinced him to open up.

I would have tried to get more of my friends to help calm him down.

At my place of work experience (Flockton Pre School) one thing I do is help to open for the day. I do this by getting all of the relevant equipment out, such as outdoor playing equipment.

During the day I am partly responsible in ensuring the safety of the children. I make sure that they are not doing anything dangerous or that encourages bad behaviour. If I see that one of the children are injured, I tell someone qualified to handle the situation.

At the end of the day I help to clean up. I mop and sweep the floor, vacuum the carpet, wash the pots, and empty the bins.

At my place of work experience( Flockton Pre School) I support the children by helping them understand what acceptable behaviour is. I do this by observing any children with potentially worrying behaviour(such as being overly aggressive) and calmly helping them to realise that what they are doing is upsetting others.
