Details: This Earth Day, as we reflect on the theme "Our Power, Our Planet," among other actions we wanted students to develop that even simple traditions like coloring eggs can take on new meaning. Thus, a culinary workshop organized in our school, regarding colored eggs. On this workshop, theory and practise, exploring the role of eggs in the Mediterranean diet, and cultural significance as well as the science of egg composition, and natural vs artificial coloring of eggs—integrating biology, chemistry, nutrition, environmental and cultural aspects. In the practical part, students were asked to test and observe pH effects on eggshell, dye eggs using foods such as red cabbage, beetroot, onions, carrots, and curcuma as well as with artificial colors and test for colorfastness and aesthetics.
They developed that selecting natural dyes, which are derived from red cabbage, turmeric, or beets, is more than just an artistic endeavor; it is a subtle yet significant statement about sustainability.

Details: Participants of the Erasmus+/eTwinning project "Mediterranean Diet for Overall Health" (2o Esperino EPAL Acharnon, 1st EPAL Nafpaktou, Gymnázium Cyrila Daxnera, USGGED) honor Earth Day 2025 under the annual theme “Our Power, Our Planet” and are encouraged to think critically about how clean energy, climate action and sustainable food choices can help us reduce pollution, protect biodiversity and fight climate change. Students: a) create an eco friendly (digital) campaign using free web2.0 tools to promote renewable energy at home or school, eating seasonal/local foods, reducing food waste or plastic use in the kitchen, protecting biodiversity through sustainable farming, b) develop an Eco-Action Plan with small actions that their class or community can take, c) get creative by writing short messages uder the theme "Voices of the Mediterranean" by imagining a Mediterranean ingredient (like olive oil, legumesor herbs) could talk.

Their contribution titled "Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet" emphasizes the educational significance of the research in enhancing both learning outcomes and commitment to the Mediterranean Diet.

RANEAN DIET" was submitted for review to the proceedings of the "11th International Scientific ConferenceI.A.K.E. (Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences)", 8-11 of May 2025, Heraclion and was presented presented on May 8, 2025. It investigates how students participants in the MedDiet4Health project coming from 3 different countries adhere to the Mediterranean Diet, using the MedDiet Score to analyze cultural, geographical, gender and age-related differences in eating habits. It provides baseline findings before an online educational intervention, highlighting how factors like urbanization, local traditions and food availability influence dietary patterns.

It evaluates the educational intervention implemented in the MedDiet4Health project, using the standardized MedDiet Score to measure changes in students’ adherence to the Mediterranean Diet before and after the course. The comparative analysis of 214 pre- and 221 post-intervention surveys shows statistically significant improvements in key dietary categories, demonstrating the effectiveness of the intervention.

It presents how the WebQuests were designed and implemented within the Erasmus+ project “Mediterranean Diet for Overall Health,” using Inquiry-Based Learning aligned with the principles of Inclusive Digital Education and UDL. It analyzes the pedagogical framework, the development process, classroom application, and evaluation results, showing how WebQuests can support accessibility, collaboration, and meaningful digital learning for diverse VET students.

It regards the central idea of an earlier eTwinning project, which explored the Mediterranean Diet through the lenses of culture, health and sustainability, and naturally evolved into the foundation of the MedDiet4Health project.
