In Portugal LTT Activity:

I learned how our seas are polluted. I learned what can be done about this.

I learned how technology and computer coding can be used in environmental and climate change.

I learned how city water is being cleaned and what I should personally pay attention to in this regard.

The Activity I Will Implement in My Class:

I will conduct research with my students on the importance of keeping water and sea clean in our lives.

I will display posters on the classroom and school boards to raise awareness on this issue.

First of all, I understood better that people harm the environment in many areas in the activities I participated in Portugal.

I witnessed firsthand how polluted water is purified in the water treatment plant we visited as part of the project.

In the schools we visited, it was shown with example scenarios how seas and shores are polluted by people.

We did a symbolic coastal and sea cleaning and classified the waste generated for recycling, thus creating awareness about the importance of recycling. Again, during our school visits, we participated in beautiful works that will raise awareness about recycling and climate change with computerized and non-computerized coding activities.

In addition, I had the opportunity to see the historical and touristic places of Portugal and get to know their culture.

I gained good experiences in personal and professional terms.

ACTIVITIES I WILL IMPLEMENT IN MY CLASS

I will convey the importance of recycling and my experiences about climate change to my students in my class. I will make posters and pictures with them. I will increase their awareness by playing online games about recycling. We will design toys using waste materials (plastic bottles, boxes, old paper and cloths, beverage cans ...) and thus, we will draw attention to recycling.

PORTUGAL LTT ACTIVITY

Our trip to Portugal within the scope of the project was a very instructive and meaningful experience for us in terms of both environmental awareness and cultural awareness. In the school we visited, we organised activities to explain how the seas are polluted and what can be done about it, and we both learned and exchanged information. We also carried out activities that drew attention to today's most important environmental problems such as recycling and climate change and raised awareness.

We had the chance to visit a water treatment plant to see how the dirty water in the city is cleaned. Here, we observed the water treatment process first-hand and better understood how laborious and important it is to clean the water.

We also had the opportunity to improve ourselves in the field of technology. We developed both creative thinking and technological skills by doing various coding on the computer. These studies inspired us on how we can use technology more effectively in our future projects.

Of course, another beautiful aspect of our trip was the opportunity to visit the historical and touristic places of Portugal. Getting to know a different culture, observing people's lifestyle and exploring historical sites left a deep impression on us.

As a result, this trip taught us the importance of being environmentally conscious individuals, using technology consciously and broadening our perspective by interacting with different cultures. I think that such projects and trips should reach more students.

ACTIVITIES I WILL IMPLE MENT IN MY CLASS

I will share my experiences about recycling and climate change with the students in my class, I will have a waste sorting race with them, I will make a sea cleaning poster, I will write short stories about sea pollution through the eyes of sea creatures, we will design recycling items from waste materials, I will show how to clean dirty water by doing a mini water treatment experiment, I will also play online games that raise awareness about environmental pollution and recycling in the classroom.

Thanks to the presentations from the visiting schools, I learned about the education systems and school structures of the participating countries.

By communicating with teachers from the participating countries, I experienced the importance of international cooperation.

I learned the basic principles of how robots work and the logic of coding through hands-on practice.

By seeing the causes and consequences of sea pollution, my environmental awareness increased.

I learned the importance of sustainable living principles.

By observing the technological systems and engineering solutions at the water treatment facility, I gained information about the applications in this field.

Thanks to the historical buildings, museums, and cultural sites we visited, I learned about Portugal's rich history, traditions, art, and lifestyle.

Meeting new people, participating in group activities, and working together strengthened my social skills.

The Activity I Will Implement In My Class

I will tell my students about the school, city, and culture in Portugal with photos and videos.

I will emphasize the importance of coding by showing examples of its daily uses (smartphone applications, websites, industrial robots, etc.).

Using what I learned at the event in Portugal, I will make informative presentations about the causes, effects, and solutions of sea pollution.

Using waste materials collected in daily life, I will design sea creature-themed art products with my students.

I will show a documentary or animation explaining water purification processes.

I will organize a Portugal tour using the photos and stories of the historical and cultural sites we visited.

I will make seed balls with my students for a greener environment.

Activities that I will implement in my classroom. I will make different designs from recyclable materials in my classroom. I will do activities about cleaning the seas and coasts. I will try to raise awareness about climate change with activities. I will provide information about the architecture and cultural richness of a different country with the help of visuals.

The Clean Environment Green World Erasmus Project, designed to create a clean and green world, gave me the opportunity to interact with educators and students in Portugal. I saw various practices in environmental cleanliness and protection. During my participation in the project, connecting with Portuguese educators and sharing ideas about clean environments positively benefited me both professionally and personally. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the implementation of the project.
