Stage 1: Trust vs. Mistrust

I resolved this stage with TRUST. My mother always cared for me and made sure my needs were met and exceeded, so I was always able to trust her to fix my problems when I cried for food or to change my diaper.
To develop trust, a child needs "sensitive, responsive, consistent caregiving" that provides children with the basic necessities of life. Because my parents were able to provide a consistent access to necessities, I was able to trust them. I still have a trusting mindset with the people and the world around me, so I believe that I developed trust in my young years.

Stage 2: Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt

I ended this stage on the AUTONOMY side. I was able to walk around the house on my own and get into trouble with things I did not understand.
Children at this age become more "powerful and independent" in the actions, and they often are referred to as the "terrible twos" in which kids define their own way of doing things. I was definitely in this stage, as I often liked to run away from my mother as she needed to take me somewhere. This negative stage was actually a positive one in my development which shows that I was becoming more independent and did not need my trusted adults as much as I once did.

I reached the initiative goal for this stage by learning to play with others and beginning to take a role in the imaginative games that were played.
Children begin to see that some actions can "meet social approval" and some may not. I began to take a larger role in deciding what things I wanted to do and say in public. I began to recognize that crying was embarrassing in public, and also that I could have a larger role in games.

I achieved Industry during my elementary school years. I was involved in spell bowl, math bowl, chess club, and even scrabble club at my school. I found that I was really good at intellectual activities, and I chose extracurricular activities based on this.
Children at this stage is based on "psychosocial development" and "children's view of their capacity for productive work." At this stage I was deciding that I was good at intellectual activities, and I chose to participate in these activities. I learned what I liked and I chose a productive option for myself in a prosocial way.

Stage 5: Identity vs. Role Confusion

I have developed the role of Identity with this stage of Erikson's stage of development. I have decided what I want to do in my future, and what kind of person I want to be, as well as my career. I want to hang out with kids for my career, so I am pursuing a degree that will get me to that place.
Since this stage is comprised of "the choice of an occupation, the adoption of values to live by, and the development of a satisfying sexual identity" this stage is mostly consisted of young adults who are developing themselves. Because I already know where I want to be in my future (working with kids), have found a sexual identity, and have decided what value and morals I want to live my life by, I am well on my way to resolving this stage with Identity.

I believe I will resolve this stage with intimacy because I currently have a long-term boyfriend, and a handful of close friends who I speak to and share intimate things about myself with.
A person in this stage is looking "to make commitments to others" which extends to family, friends, and a partner to travel through life with. Since I currently have a consistent group of friends and a partner, I think I will end this stage with intimacy as long as I keep up the maintenance on my different relationships.

I believe I will end this stage in Generativity. I think I will end up in this stage because I already have a tendency to help others during big events and volunteering my time to help people.
This stage is qualified by "guiding the next generation" to become better selves through leading them through different life challenges. I always tend to help others, so I think I will still feel the need to lead the youth in my life and cultivate positive endings.

I believe I will reach the integrity stage of this stage of Erikson's stages of development. I believe this because I have done a lot of great things in my life, and I will try to take amazing opportunities.
This stage comprises of someone having an "acceptance of (their) own life" and accepting their life choices. I believe that I have a good perception of my life, and I do not tend to take a dark road of regret to things I do anymore. I think I will end my life in the integrity stage of development.
