After 21 years of teaching Social Studies, I have recently transitioned into the role of Dean of Students at Westerly Middle School in Westerly, RI.&nbsp; As a social studies teacher, I taught civics and world affairs at the high school level. I returned to school at Northeastern and saw digital humanities and new media changing and challenging the way education is done.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I have been the Executive Director for PSTV, the Education Channel for The School District of Philadelphia - working with K-12 for the last 8.5 years, an Entrepreneur, and a Student. Nothing excites me more than seeing the lightbulb go off so students can work in creative environments and have their voices heard. We love pushing boundaries with technology and media in our space and helping other educators build these wonderful learning and safe spaces in their classrooms.<br><br>I design and build out multimodal media spaces and educate students in these spaces. Early in my career, I was fascinated with the question of how the excellent work of individual teachers (like the Baby Boomers who were then starting to retire) could be sustained.
