They kept themselves on track by checking Schoology regularly starting assignments early, and asking questions when they didn't understand. Why weren't they responding? Were they alone? Did they understand? Would they be willing to meet with me individually? Me noticing them made a huge difference in them when they became hybrid. They participated, attempted, answered and even smiled!
