The researcher's hypothesis state that if the intensity of the light is decreased, then the rate of photosynthesis will decrease. This was clearly proven to be true as shown by the amount of time per trial in the data. The shortest time was for the trial without a window screen at 13:26. The longest time was for the trail with two window screens at 30:31. The chads that had no window screen above them were exposed to the greatest intensity of light, which allowed for the rate of oxygen production to increase. Oxygen is a product of photosynthesis, which has a direct correlation to the rate of photosynthesis.

There were multiple sources of error to go along with this experiment. One of the many errors was the fact that the cups were not fully centered under the light. This could impact the rate of photosynthesis because each cup got a different amount of light. Another error could be that the screens may have overlapped at some point. This could affect the results because light may have had to pass through more than 2 window screens , which definitely could have reduced the light intensity. This experiment could be used in the future to find the best and worst conditions for photosynthesis.

The results of the experiment were fairly linear. The intensity of the light was changed by the amount of window screens put over the cup that contained the chads for photosynthesis, so we could not directly control the numerical value of the intensity. The trend of the graph generally followed a constant line with our data we obtained.
