After watching the video, I learned how your diet effects your body, how severe obesity is, and how obesity is presently compared to the past.
3. Lack of funding is a big aspect of obesity. Schools can only afford processed food and people working with minimum wage can mostly only afford fast food. Some people are not willing to change their lifestyle, so obesity will always exist to some extent.

I learned that obesity was the number one killer in The USA. This was shocking for me because I didn't realize that there were so many dietary related health problems.
3. One challenge is convincing everyone to stop eating unhealthy foods because they are used to relying on pizza or McDonalds for dinner. People love the way that it tastes, they won't want to stop eating it. Another challenge that this project would face would be to provide healthy foods to everyone. Some people eat this way because they have no access to healthy and affordable foods. There aren't always gardens or farms near that can grow food for the nearby communities. Healthy foods that are organic are more expensive to grow and produce. Farmers can't always afford to grow organic food.

I also know that obesity is one of the world leading causes of death.
2. After watching the video I learned that almost every single food item has some type of sugar in it even milk, and its a scary amount of sugar.
3. The video actually made me realize that even healthier looking people may not be as healthy as we seem because of the continuous intake of glucose and carbohydrates in our everyday diet. Even things like apples and bananas are treated with preservatives and chemicals to enhance taste and to keep them lasting longer.

1. Before I watched this video about obesity and fast food, I knew that fast food or processed food caused many health problems. I knew that almost everyone in America eat fast food everyday because there are so many fast food restaurants and fast food is an extremely large industry. I also knew that schools were not providing enough healthy food for students at schools.

2. Something that I learned from this video that really extended my point of view on fast food and obesity is that most of the illnesses and deaths are caused by obesity. I didn't know that obesity was the largest killer in the USA. I also didn't know that milk has a lot of sugar and that it is as bad as a soda for you.

3. The largest challenge to seek change in people's diets is funds. For schools it is expensive to purchase healthy food because processed food is far more affordable than non actual healthy food. Many people eat fast food because it is affordable and it is fast. Therefore, finding the money for families and schools is the largest challenge in seeking change.

1. Before I watched the Ted Talk, I was all ready aware of some of the statistics and facts he gave on food in America. I knew that fast and processed food was consumed heavily and impacted the daily diet of the average American. Also, I already knew school venues were selling goods that are unhealthy to children, and simply goods that were beneficial for themselves.

2. When Jamie Oliver discussed the approximate amount of sugar a child receives from the milks sold at school. Also, when Mr. Oliver mentioned, "if a government official documented and analyzed the amount of sugar a child ingests, it could be consider child abuse." In addition I learned about the other leading causes of deaths in America, such as diabetes.

3. Based on the information he talked about, I wonder if it is possible and if one day in the near future, if an food ambassador can be administered in each food/grocery store. Also, if the government can implement policies that ensure schools, and possibly in homes, that make families and administration provide or enforce healthy foods.

1. I knew that food is a major impact on people's lives today and that people are trying to find the easy way out of meals. This results into buying food that ins't the best and makes you ingest things that aren't good for you.
2. I didn't realize the situation on school lunches for kids. I didn't know that the head of the schools have the say in what the kids eat and that they will take the cheap route and buy food that ins't healthy just because it's more expensive.
3. I think the largest challenge is for people and families to find the funds to buy the food that is right for their body's. The world has made people pull towards fast food because it's cheap and taste good. So, they make people pay more to stay healthy and eat the food that is right for their bodies. The world likes make as much money as possible and this results in the challenge. The challenge of not having the opportunity to buy the healthy food. Some people are more well off and have that chance. Most people today don't. This is why this is such a huge problem in our world today.

I also knew that children were getting effected them most and if they kept eating the way the were they would not see a long life.
2. Some new ideas that I can take from the video is learning to cook 10 different meals that is healthy and what can help my family to be more healthy. What broadened my thinking was when Jamie ask the group of students to what type of vegetable is this and they said the wrong answer overtime. This stood out to me because I would think the children would have at least have know what they have once eaten before. This shows that they either never ate it before or eat a very minimum amount.
3. Not a lot of challenges came my way when watching this video because all my life my parents told me that I should eat healthy fruits and vegetables.

One thing that puzzles me is the fact that people have seen this problem rising for years, yet there has been no major effort to put a stop to it, though it is very preventable, as said by Jamie Oliver. I also knew that many people eat at these places because they don't know how to cook just don't like healthy things. I also knew that America is one of the top countries with a high obesity rate. A new idea that I have come up with is the fact that I don't really put any research or thought into what I consume daily. This video has inspired me to eat healthier meals and to put more research into why organic food is better than conventional. One particular challenge what comes to my mind when I think of my idea is the fact that some people don't believe that organic food is better than conventional. Another challenge would be the fact that in some people's culture food high in calories, sugars, carbohydrates and is the norm and they wouldn't be prepared to give their favorite dish up in favor for healthier options.

1. His ideas connected to what I already know, as I knew that obesity is a major issue globally, and especially in America. I also know that labelling is an issue, and that fast food restaurants are too highly depended on. I could also assume that in cafeterias all over America (and the world), the food being served is very bad quality, therefore unhealthy, and is used just because it's cheaper.

2. After watching the video, I see that schools are one of the main reasons obesity is such an issue. Something else that struck me by surprise were the statistics that showed that 3 of the highest leading death causes are proven to be generated from unhealthy eating. I was also shocked by the price Americans spend on healthcare bills annually, and how they could be cut in half through the knowledge of food. The knowledge of food was something I didn't realize (since watching the video) is something this generation lacks in.

3. Not personally, but I feel that cutting the fast food system will be a huge challenge in attempt to cut the obesity rates. Because it is such a strong industry, it will be difficult to just get rid of it as in the eyes of Americans, it is cheap, and it is food. Cheap and food are two words that attract the public, which is also why I think cutting the misleading labels will be difficult. If the labels don't say low-fat, no added sugars, (even though they aren't true), then the purchasers may not be attracted to the products. I now know that even though I eat healthy enough, I can take this information from the video and apply it to my future children.

1. Before watching the video, I knew that America has a very high percentage of obesity. Unfortunately, I was not aware just how bad this problem was, and that It was the number one cause of death. Not only in America but all over the world obesity is a epidemic that needs to be solved.
2. While watching the video I inquired many points the I did not yet know. In actuality many schools play a large roll in students health. This is because most school offer breakfast and lunches. When you think about it, more then 2/3 of a year are spent in school and 2/3 meals are eaten at school. If all of those meals are unhealthy, full of sugar and fats, now wonder 50% of Americans are obese.
3. Challenges that arise when I begin to think of solutions to fixing these problems are not the alternatives, yet the way we would execute, and actually prevent and reverse obesity. Food is vital to your life, without we would not survive. If you were to tell people that can't eat what they are used to eating then how do you think they are going to act. That is why education is key, if you were to teach people why those foods are not healthy, and that their life was going to be cut short if they continue to eat unhealthy. Once again how are you going to teach everyone that fast food, sugar and etc. are going cut your life short.

I also know that fast food is a large consumption in American people and many people are getting affected by this horrible problem. I could also assume that the food served for children at school is sometimes very unhealthy and that risks higher rates of diseases.

2. Some new ideas I can take from Jamie is that we should not consume a lot of fast food and that we should teach children and students to cook. This is really important because if students don't know how to cook, they will only eat fast food and that is extremely bad. In addition, I learned about other causes of deaths in America. Also, I realized how much sugar we are eating, for example, the milk, its a huge amount of sugar which can lead to diabetes.

3. Based on the information he talked about, I think stoping eating fast food will cause a big difference because its very unhealthy. Especially if your coming from Bahamas were a great majority of people aren’t as fortunate.

1. Before I watched this video in class, I already had the knowledge of the obesity rate in the U.S. The fact that half of America's population are obese shocked me. Jamie Oliver covered many of the main reasons for why so many Americans are obese today and most of them which I already knew. Something which I felt really summed up what should happen to our people all around the world is the quote made by Jamie Oliver. (look at the bottom of)
2. One thing which I learned was that obesity related diseases are the number one killer in the USA. It was surprising to me that all dietary killers are all higher than homicide.
3. The main problem for people both in America and around the world is the fact that to make healthy and fresh food it takes large funds. In addition, many families aren't educated in nutrition and will slowly kill their children with foods they grew up with. As a result, it is hard to seek change if the people both in the USA and all around the world are being educated in school about how to cook healthy foods.

1 I knew that america was very obese and that it is preventable. I knew that there were a lot of family's that were obese. Also that a lot of americans got fast food.
2 I now know that school lunches are fattening. I also learned about how much sugar milk cartoons had in them. That most children can't name very common vegetables. Also that obesity can cause people to die at 21 from being obese. Also that you can be obese before 4th grade.
3 The largest challenge is to get people to stop eating bad food. It is more expensive to buy healthier food. It is also faster to buy fast food than to cook healthier.

1)Before watching this video I knew that obesity was a huge issue in many countries such as Mexico, The United States, Australia, India, The Uk and Canada. I knew that obesity was one of the leading reasons for death in the United States and I also knew that about 2/3 of the population in America is obese.
2) This video showed me many things I had not know previously, I knew that obesity was responsible for many deaths of Americans however I did not know that food related deaths were responsible for the highest amount of deaths in America by a landslide; nearly 600% larger than a non related food deaths. One thing that really blew my mind was the fact that almost all fast foods are handheld. I understand that is besides the issue however it is something I never thought about.
3) We can see many challenges with trying to teach people to eat better and thus prevent obesity is the taste. Many children grow up with the idea in their head that vegetables are bad because they don't taste bad. I was like this myself however I was always an active child so I could always see my toes, however there are many children who aren't. It would be impossible to get me to eat something that I did not want to eat

I also knew that the largest cause for death in America was related to obesity.
2. Some ideas that extended my thinking were teaching kids how to cook 10 meals, because that way they can have food that they can easily cook all the time, that are healthy. Also, that this will save them from eating cheeseburgers and pizza.
3. Some big challenges is getting everyone to learn how to cook one health meal, because if you teach 3 people how to cook a meal, and they each teach 3 people, and this happens 25 times, the whole world would be able to cook that meal.

I already knew that one of the big leading causes was from health concerns, also that America and other large countries had large population counts for people that are obese. I also knew that your life span was shorten if you eat unhealthy and become obese.
2. I learned from the video was that 2/3 of people in America were over weight. Also that we spend 15 billion dollars a year for heath costs for food alone. This video showed me many things like that heart disease and cancers were the leading causes for death and those are caused by eating unhealthy.
3. The way we can fix obesity is changing the portions of meals and how big they are. Also the way we can fix it is by introducing sugar later in life so they don't want it more earlier.

Before I watched the video, I knew that the is a high percentage of people with obesity, such as children and adults as well. I also knew that obesity can have a consequence of death.
2. After watching the video, I extended my knowledge about obesity based on the fact of sugar in milk, and based on nutrition in school. Jamie Olive showed that in many schools children do not even know many types of vegetables.
3. Based on the information he gave, I believe that people on the future could administrate schools, groceries and other places. I also believe if you do not give sugar for children when they are little, they won't want to eat it a lot.

1. Before watching the TED talk, I had known some of the foods that had caused obesity and that if you always eat these types of foods, you can get very sick and you can even die. Although healthier foods are more expensive, you will feel better.

2. After watching the TED talk, I was very surprised to see how many people have gotten hurt from obesity and that the United States was in the top. I was also surprised due to the evidence that Jamie Oliver had given of different family diets along with a school's diet.

3. Some challenges and idea I have are that I believe government representatives of any country should monitor what people are buying in grocery stores along with what school's across that country are feeding the students. I also believe teachers across schools worldwide should be teaching students about obesity and some healthy foods that kids should try. This is because the kids are the future are what they are eating will affect them in their everyday lives.

It also got me thinking about how preventable issues related to poor eating habits are but still millions of people die annually due to it.
3. I'm puzzled by the fact that its such a large issue globally yet it's not taken as seriously as it should be. Governments should be much more influential than they are now to better food quality and habits. I also think its important for us to be educated about this subject.
