The market revolution had a big role in sparking the Transcendentalism movement. In the market revolution Americans were stepping away from making items for themselves to producing goods to sell to people that are usually far away for money. The economy was thriving thanks to modern day technology allowing newer and better transportation. Before advancements in transportation it was difficult to bring goods into markets since it was so expensive to trade over land and cost as much as shipping to England. With the invention of the steamboat canals were made which made transport cheaper The invention of the railroad also led to more efficient and faster transporting of goods. Another helpful invention was the telegraph. The telegraph was beneficial because it allowed people to know how much to sell their goods for and when the should expect their shipment.

Thoreau makes the point that people in his society don't have any consequences. He says that confession is an important part of society. Our sins burn and cause pain. Confessing would make it burn less as explained in the quote, "if we will confess the truth, much more to see it burn, since burn it must, and
we, be it known, did not set it on fire,—or to see it put out, and have a
hand in it, if that is done as handsomely" (Thoreau 209). People tend to steer away from confession and more towards excuses because that is easier to do, but it could lessen the extremity of it.

Thoreau argues that the world is at its best when "the body is one sense" (Thoreau 211). Nature is at peace and undisturbed. Each part of nature does its own thing and it is beautiful. Although it is simple, the world is calm. He is told that he is thought to be lonely. He argues that he is not lonely because the world is so big and he is surrounded by so much.

Transcedentalism and Romanticism are both fairly similar. Romanticism deals with the love of nature. It revolves around positivity and love of the world and what inhabits it. People who practice romanticism generally belive in the beauty/good in the word, are free, and usually have vivid imagination. Transcedentalism is big on truths and that values are within instinct and intuition. It supports the belief that people and things are naturally good with the capability of attaining greater understanding. It also revolves around the thought that man chooses his own path of goodness rather than God providing for them.

The song "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong parallels with Henry David Thoreau's Walden in the way that they both view the world and nature. Nature is seen as beautiful and calming to them. When everyone else is in commotion, they look around them and feel at peace. They both view the nature in the world as something that's beautiful and needs to be appreciated. Others may feel bored and lonely, but Louis Armstrong and Henry David Thoreau are content and happy with what they have. The message of this song is that the world is a wonderful place and people need to recognize the worth of the nature and it's beauty that surrounds us everyday.
