A supply chain is a system of organizations, people, activities, information, and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer. Supply chain activities involve the transformation of natural resources, raw materials, and components into a finished product that is delivered to the end customer. Many business units are part of this system and each of them have to handle materials and move them forward to the end consumer. This materials can stay for some time in the warehouse or in the stock department so they are called inventory or stock.

Answer the following questions

What are the main Amazon principles?

Our Leadership Principles aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. These Principles work hard, just like we do. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates. It’s just one of the things that makes Amazon peculiar.

How did Amazon business begin? This startup story features Jeffrey P. Bezos, the innovative founder of Amazon. The company, which now generates over $61 Billion in Revenue and holds the title as the world’s largest online retailer, was started out iBezos’s garage at 30 years old. SIMONE TRISSINI

Why were books a convenient article to sell on line? Because they were non perishable goods so they had a longer shelf life, less chance of getting outdated as compared to apparels or electronic devices. Dejan Atanasov

What was the job of JB before starting Amazon?

JB was an american engineer, tecnology and retail entrepreneur. SIMONE TRISSINI

Where did he live and where he moved in nineties?

he lived in Compton and in nineties he moved to Seattle

Why did he go west?

What was happening in the middle of the nineties in USA? In 1994 there was this idea the internet is going to be powerful enough that you can use it to create a kind of intermediary between customers, shoppers and manufacturers. Ferrari Paola

What was the attitude of the bookshop owner about Amazon? Amazon business is good news for some but bad for others. In Britain bookshops have closed at the rate of more than one a week. Lots of people go to a bookshop to take photos of books and look for the price, then they use Amazon to order that book because they can get it cheaper. The bookshop owner says that Amazon's prices can make trading impossible for them. Sometimes they use their savings to keep the shop open. Silvia teodo

What was JB answer about bookshop owner’s complaining? Complaining is not a strategy, amazon did not invent the idea of shopping from home, according to amazon vision, booksellers are on the wrong side of history. SIMONE TRISSINI
