Regarding recruiting mentors... we will need to be as transparent as possible about ALL aspects of the mentoring structure, especially time and preparation expectations.

At the same time, we will need to package these materials (guidelines/expectations) so they do not look grossly daunting or life consuming.

Teaching is a craft and an art which must necessarily be honed in the presence of others. Our mentors and our students shape us, not so much in a linear fashion, but one that cycles back onto itself, a spiral, with seeds that were planted perhaps a decade ago finally sprouting within the meaningful context of the life of our classrooms, and fully blossoming within the intricacies of each relationship we experience. I like the idea of students being taught it's okay to ask for help. I have way too many student teachers who never are curious or ask questions - we need to teach this and validate this in our beginning educators.

What incentive does the mentor's school district have to allow their teacher to participate? Bloom's Taxonomy may be enough for some school districts.
