Anyone studying inclusion could and perhaps should acknowledge the indigenous people who were historically excluded, marginalized, and silenced. Their inclusion connects communities through history and reminds us to elevate those overlooked.

However, indigenous people’s day is about acknowledging the people who already lived on the land “claimed” by others. Further, it makes known the tribes that were uprooted and displaced and honors their history.
