“Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted”-David Bly

Following this metaphor, the first step to success is planting a seed, or creating a passion or goal and beginning a pattern. Next, your water and feed the plant as it grows, meaning, once you have found a passion, you invest countless hours into its development. The full harvest is the fruition of hard work, the accomplishment of a goal. But like crops, goals require much time, effort, and persistence in order to thrive.

I like the simile here comparing success to a plant, which reiterates the message of working toward a goal. In my life, I have always enjoyed challenges. Most of these I have self imposed as a way to become better in some aspect of life. In order to overcome a challenge, it takes perseverance, dedication, and courage. If you always do what's easy, you will definitely miss out on that satisfying feeling of accomplishment knowing your worked hard to achieve a goal.

I believe that hard work is one of the most important aspects of a successful life. An example in my life of this is practice for sports. Dedication and competition certainly helps me work hard, so when I know I will be competing, it helps me train as hard as possible for certain events.

This quote reminds us that persistence is essential, and goals cannot be met without a great deal of hard work. Personally, I meet my goals to succeed academically by spending hours studying and completing homework assignments each week. I also try to eat well and sleep enough, so that I can perform at my best during class time. Often, I might try to skate by and do the bare minimum required to function, but in the long run this is deeply unsatisfying.

This leads to lots of enjoyable experiences and the long term success of your goals. This quote is one that is applicable to everyone and one everyone should know of.

However, the example I have is in my Cosmetology programs with prom and wedding updos. I wasn't very good at them at first, but I kept on practicing and trying to improve my skills. Now, I am much better at updos and feel confident in my abilities.

Hard work is arguably the most important factor in reaching goals. I hope to continue to put hard work into my high school education that will result in the harvest of a good college education and the career of my choice.

I believe that in order to achieve success in life hard work is the most important aspect. My hard work pushed other people to work just as hard, and I was pushed to get faster and stronger by my teammates who were working and putting in just as much effort as myself. You can't get faster in running if you don't put in the miles or the proper training.

This quote is a very important one to follow in life. If you are following a specific dream or trying to succeed at something in particular, the only way to meet that goal is to work hard. You have to work hard for what you want, and this metaphor is a perfect representation of that theory. I can relate to this because I want to be successful after high school and pursue a college education, and in order to do so, I need to work hard now.

I usually do not put very much effort into things, I tend to do the bare minimum to still achieve what I want: studying, exercising, cleaning, socializing, etc... I have started to realize that hard work will get me further than anything else in my life. If I continue to put in the same amount of effort and dedication, I will continue to get the same, moderate results but I will not fully succeed or improve. I think this quote metaphorically shows the power of achievement through hard work in a positive way.

Sometimes, this does work, which is great, but most of the time, it does not. Then, there are instances where I put in a lot of work, and do not get anything out of it. I guess it just depends on the situation. Something I put a lot of effort into is school. Sometimes I am rewarded, and sometimes not so much.

Most tasks require patience; it is difficult to learn a new sport or an instrument etc. Investing countless hours is a necessity in order to reap the harvest at the end. Perhaps this changing perspective is due to the internet and it's rapidity with which it operates. We can access the biggest and the best so fast, and it seems so easy to the people we see. We anticipate the same result but they also had to work hard.

This quote is very relevant, especially in modern society and even in high school. Many children these days believe that simply wishing something will make it come true, or that they can just work off raw talent and it will give them everything they need. However, many realize later on that success would have come if they had simply worked enough for it. I think it is important to be involved, to ask question and to be engaged, and to work for your accomplishments, because that's when they pay off and mean something to you in the end.
