Kiribati consists of 33 atolls and reef islands, and there is one raised coral atoll named Banaba.
They spreak English and Gilbertese, their goverment is a parliamentery republic.

They mined and shipped phosphate, and as the headquarters were well placed, the shipping was really easy.

It was a peaceful transition, they obatined their own intern, self-goverment in 1977, and held general elections in 1978.
