This poem relates to Ruth because it explains how she is throughout the book. Ruth was willing to sacrifice the life of her unborn child so her family can still have money. She took care of everybody but herself. The quote shows how money controls the world and even the poorest of society. The quote supports the theme because everybody in the book talks about money and what to do with it. The entire book is displayed over money, it has been about money from the beginning of the book. Everyone argued, fought, fathomed, over money.
