What is Weekly Reflection and what is it used for?

Weekly Reflection is a summary of children's learning for the week that covers all 6 learning domains.
It is a tool:
1) to track and record children's responses to lessons in all learning domains
2) to assess children's learning and ensure they are meeting their milestone well
3) to assess if materials prepared are sufficient and impactful to children's learning and how it can be improved
4) to assess teacher's teaching approach and style and how it can be improved to benefit children's learning experience

Instructions.

1) Watch the video.

2) Pick at least 3 learning domains to observe on. (Eg Creative Aesthetic, Motor skills etc)

3) Try your best to write a summary of the the above observation based on Lesson and Children

4) Use the guiding questions that can be found in your Weekly Reflection templates and you will find the guiding questions under Lesson and Children.

I refer to the guiding questions in the weekly reflection to stay focused on what to observe and evaluate. I consider key factors such as whether the lesson objectives were met and any follow up plans or activities needed to support children who did not achieve the objectives in the initial lesson. I assess the lesson implementation process, noting which strategies were effective and identifying areas where they could be improved or enhanced for future lessons.
