It was formed in 1780 when landslides formed the mountains on both sides of Waipio Stream which made it a valley.

-l~By Diego Parajuli~l-
~+*l The Nemuro Peninsula extends off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan.l*+~
~l+It is 80 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide. It forms part of Nemuro City. Cape Nosappu is located on the tip of the peninsula. It is the most eastern point in Japan. It is unsure how long the peninsula has been around, but we do know it was founded in 1869 by a resident commissioner. Nemuro Peninsula qualifies as a peninsula, because it is a piece of land surrounded by water on three sides. It one of Japan's main source of salmon, trout, and seaweed. Nemuro was also the administrative and governmental supply centre for the Kuril Islands. Sadly during the World War II bombing most of the buildings in Nemuro were destroyed. When the Kuril Islands were being taken over by the russians, Kemuro had a long period of economic stagnation

It is one of the best known waterfalls in Japan, as it is part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range. With a drop of 399 feet, this makes it the tallest waterfalls in Japan. Nachi Falls has been here since the 13th or early 14th century. This qualifies as my waterfall because there are other things to do here, Which is put down below, and because there is a bunch of history here. There was a buddhist temple that was destroyed during the Meiji Restoration in the late 19th century. This place is also more popular and well known because of the other sights to see and do; Hike the trail; Visit the Temple; go to the shrine; Go tot he Tea House; Visit the waterfall its self.
