The trio made a stopped in Saskatoon to visit another mutual friend, Albert. Aftertime, Albert went the police and informer them that Milgaard was acting 'suspicious' and 'uneasy' during the visit that they shared. Albert even went as far as saying there was blood stains on Milgaard's clothes. The two other friends were subsequently interviewed but denied Milgaard's involvement in the matter.
Later, reports surfaced accusing Milgaard of 're-enacting' the gruesome crime he was suspected of committing in front of friends as 'entertainment'. After this got out to officials, the two friends were brought back in to be re-interviewed as they were suspected of giving false information during the first interview. The friends said that Milgaard committed the crime during this time.
