<title>13. McKissack, Patricia. (1992) The Dark-Thirty Southern Tales of the Supernatural. This novel is full of scary stories from the South. My personal favorite is called the Chicken-Coop Monster. Melissa is terrified to go inside her grandmother&#39;s chicken coop because she is convinced that there is a monster inside. She does everything that she can to avoid it until one day her grandfather is able to build up her courage and sends her in to face the monster herself. The monster is really just a big rooster so she is able to overcome her fear by facing it head on.</title>

<title>16. Blume, Judy. (1972). Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Peter feels like a fourth-grade nothing because his parents care more about his strange little brother Fudge than him. He has to help his parents take care of Fudge because he is so badly behaved. The only thing that makes Peter happy is his turtle and Fudge makes the turtle have to go to the hospital. Peter must learn how to grapple with all of these difficult feelings but the author is still able to capture this story in a hilarious way.</title>
