Hello everybody!

My name is America Silva. I live in Seixal, not far from our school.

I love reading, writing, going to exhibitions, conferences, cinema, theatre, hanging out with my friends and, whenever possible, I enjoy travelling.

I’ve been a teacher for a long time, now. I’ve joined the teaching staff at Manuel Cargaleiro Secondary School in 1989. I teach English, but at the beginning of my career, I have taught French as well. In addition to teaching English, I am also the school librarian, which gives me a great pleasure as I love book.

I finished my the master's degree in Information Management and School Libraries in 2017. I am a member of some groups, clubs, and teams such as the school's volunteer group, the Drama Club, I am part of the PADDE and SADD teams, which are specific groups concerning the development of technology at school and the evaluation of teachers. I am also a member of the Erasmus’ team for quite some time, which allows me not only to travel but also to meet new people, new colleagues, make new friends, learn about cultural diversity. Above all, these kinds of projects teach us how to be real European citizens respecting each other believes.
