An example of a great character that they should have aimed for inspiration is Charlie from the book Wish. She is also a troubled kid with anger management issues, but you can actually understand why she’s like that, and you could put yourself in her shoes. It just doesn’t make sense. My next point is, not all people with autism or other disabilities are automatically good people. Though, yes, if someone were to have something like autism and throw a fit over something and apologized, that would be great, but BAT throughout the book is constantly acting as if the world belonged to him and I haven’t seen him once apologizing and/or owning up to his actions. At the beginning of the book BAT yelled at his sister to make him a sandwich, but like why?????? If he would have asked her normally he would get the same outcome, and it wouldn’t make look as bad. I should consider that this baby skunk will be the one to calm him down make him at least make him a little nicer, which if that’s the direction the book is going, I’m happy with it.
