Some schools suggest bringing in a technology coach to assist teachers. Because technology is constantly changing and teachers have so much to focus on, these technology coaches would stay up to date on current technology and meet with regular classroom teachers to decide how to integrate this technology into regular curriculum. This technology integration also encourage collaboration between other classroom teachers, inspired by the technology use of their colleagues.

What does it look like?

Collaboration in the classroom has many different looks. There is smaller level collaboration, like pair share, emails, and group discussion. There is also larger, more explicit collaboration, such as skyping with other classrooms, using Google Drive to work on documents and presentations together, using digital whiteboards, etc. Collaboration really depends on the level of comfort a teacher feels with technology and the needs of the students. Collaborative projects and needs can be adapted to fit different groups of students and different project needs, making it a diverse and important tool to use in the classroom.

In our discussion, Maddie acted as the skeptic and visionary and Sam acted as the equalizer and CIA agent. We focused on finding information then discussing it's relevance and importance in the classroom. We decided that using collaboration in the classroom is necessary to create a community of learning and growth, and using technology to accomplish this is crucial in today's society. We discussed how using technology for this can adapt it to fit the students' needs, specifically in Sam's work with special education and Maddie's work with elementary education. Collaboration takes learning and education to the next level.
