In return, the two top contributing countries gain positive political and diplomatic relations with the recipients of the donations. The U.S and U.K. benefit from donating to the malaria global fund by strengthening their alliances with these countries. Furthermore, they can advance their economic interests and create opportunities for more international trade markets. All countries involved gain in the end, not just the country receiving the funding.
