I think that the reason is because people love Labubu and show it off to people.

It is because I remember two of my friends showing Labubu and saying that it looks beautiful. It must be the looks of the Labubu. Another scene is when I saw a video shorts on youtube where by someone was holding two Labubus and smiling.

In this photograph over here, I am sure that this might be showing that he/she is showing his/her Labubu to people to make people lift their moods.

Despite this, I do not want to buy Labubu toys as it might be expensive and and a waste of money as it could be cuddly. In my opinion, Labubus can be like a furry and cuddly companion to children when they sleep or when their parents are not home.

However, I already have a companion which is like the Labubu-an owl named Almari. I find that I like to play UNO with it as it is like playing with friends.

Some people might not have one and have different opinions so it might be best if we hear theirs.

Do People Buy Labubu for the Right Reasons?

You may have seen it on social media, dangling from a friends backpack, or even displayed in shop windows: a small, mischievous elf with pointy ears and a toothy grin. This is Labubu, the art toy character that has become a global sensation!

On one hand, there are people who were into it before it blew up, the genuine collectors who love the art of Kasing Lung- the artist behind Labubu. They are drawn to the cheeky look of the character and for them, it's about the joy of collecting, the thrill of opening a blind box and hoping it's a rare "secret" one, and trading with friends to complete a set. It's a real hobby that connects them to the community! You could say they're in it for the "right" reasons.

On the other hand however, you have all the new people who are only interested mainly because of the hype. This was sparked when celebrities started showing off their Labubus, which turned the toy from a collector's item to a trendy "must-have" for everyone. For this group, the reason for buying isn't really love for the art, but more of wanting to be part of a popular trend they see on TikTok and Instagram. The toy becomes more of a way to show off and get likes online.

This huge demands creates a third group: the resellers. These people are only it in for the money. They take advantage of the popularity by buying the toy in large amounts, making them very hard to find in stores. They then sell them online for much higher prices. This practice ruins the hobby for true fans, who then find it much more difficult and expensive to get the toys they want.

In the end, I would say the hobby used to be all about the art and connecting with other fans, but now it's complicated by people chasing trends and others trying to make quick money.
