My stress comes from not having enough time to write my IEPs because general education teachers don't get back to me with their updates in time or respond about being a representative at the meeting. We've made it clear that we have a deadline and we legally have to have the draft sent out by a certain date as well as the invite. They just don't seem to see the urgency in it. We've had administrators talk to department heads and tell them that this is important that they respond and yet we still don't see a change. It doesn't fit with their curriculum or their plans in their days so they just ignore and delete the emails and I'm left with inaccurate or no data for my students/no representative/a representative that doesn't teach that specific student.

This year 7 new admin were hired (3 new deans and 4 new AP's). My AP has these expectations but does not explain her expectations until after the fact. Instead of focusing on bigger problems (student behavior and how it is impacting our classroom environment...she wants to lecture us about how our IEP goals aren't "good enough")

Lack of communication ( does not respond to emails or texts in a timely manner)

When there are issues or concerns it is basically is on the teachers to figure out solution. Little feedback. Support is almost non existent. Seems like teachers are solving more problems than our admin.

What leads to more stress as a teacher is when admin keeps changing the schedules. Students need structure and a daily routine. A daily routine allows for fewer disruptions and a smooth transition between activities. Lack of a routine breaks the flow of the day and leads to more confusion. Admin at my school keeps changing our schedule, which breaks our daily routines. This has happened about 5-6 times this year.

IEP help. General ed teachers don't respond to emails about being a representative or giving updates about the student. They don't realize we have deadlines we legally have to meet and I think they actually just ignore and delete the email when it comes through. So now, I'm left with either a rep that doesn't teach the student, no representative at all or a late invite, or inaccurate or no data about the student. So frustrating.

Something that really stresses me out at school is being much more connected with the school leadership as opposed to my actual Diverse learning department. At times my department discourages me to help the school in terms of subbing, after school events, or activities. The new school that I started at has been on top of things and it feels good to be working with people who have a plan and see it through. I have learned so much and this year I finally feel like I am viewed as a teacher and am appreciated. The tech guy really gets on my nerves but other than that it has been decent.
