This sentence creates Imagery it makes you think ''if some person (clank) were dragging a heavy chain. That makes you think and wonder what that might look like. It sets a mood to make you wonder about what is going to happen next. I read as my first line of the paragraph. This is a simile because it makes a direct comparison between 2 different things, and it uses the word ‘’like’’. But there is also a alliteration in this sentence.‘’The sound resounded’’.
This part of that same sentence that had the simile in it. It is a alliteration because it has ‘’the repetition of initial  content sounds.  It also set a mood and rhythm.
