I feed this into my camera lens, photographing on a Nikon D3100 in a variety of locations such as England, Cambridge; England, Essex; Austria, Vienna and London. I feel like there is no limit to where my camera and artistic eye will take me, capturing even the most mundane subjects and transforming them into images worth viewing. 

Photography is a passion I stumbled upon by accident, taking it at GCSE simply to see what it may be about, never before holding a camera in my life. What started as something I didn't think twice about, quickly developed into a doorway of possibilities. I found that when I was set a project/assignment, I would take longer than I expected finding angles that fit, lighting that was good and how to highlight the best aspects of a photo. As time went on, the quantity of places I visited increased and therefore the photos I have gathered.

My group commented on the fact that I took into consideration what exactly I was going for --   a simple style so that the creativity in my images stood out more.

 It was also mentioned that it was a good idea that I didn't want to include my social media as that is more personal use but my website would be for professional uses. I wouldn't want to conflict the two and have employers be put off by anything that isn't sophisticated and to the point of my photography work. 

I was told that my website was visually appealing due to the basic layout as well as the very simple tones. The last thing mentioned was that my website would appeal to individuals rather than businesses. I received no refers or satisfactory grades, receiving only good and excellent in the tick boxes. In terms of verbal feedback, as my assessors forgot to write it down, I was told that my website was very easy to navigate around as the menu bar was visible and easy to click from page to page. I told the assessors that my target audience was marketing and promotion, mainly to be a photographer for people who wish to promote their business or themselves on a portfolio. This is why I was told that having a variety of themes was a good idea, as I had portrait, black and white, food and nature photography on my page. They said that this showcased my strengths in photography and what I was best at, meaning whoever is viewing my portfolio will have a wide range of work to look over. 

I stated from the beginning I wanted a simple layout so that the photos would be the main focus on my website and I achieved this, with the sophisticated layout being a suitable design for my content, making it easy for businesses to straight away know my capability with a camera, as the initial plan is that I would be able to take decent photos for them to showcase and promote. 

Also, I was told that my logo was a good idea and cleverly designed as I made it so it appeared as if there was a 'P' in the middle of the 'S' symbolising 'Sarah's Photography'. My assessors thought it fit nicely on the page as I had it on each end of my title and on the mobile version I had only one as that's what fit best. 

They said that my website was still easy to navigate through on mobile as I designed it specifically for that, making sure text was where it was meant to be, displayed clearly and that there was an option to go to and from each of my pages. Nothing appeared squashed or disorganised, which is why my assessors gave me excellents for this aspect. 

I was told that even though it only included one social media link it was good to have that anyway. I was originally no going to put any as none of my social media was related to photography, but I took the time to make one so that I could put a link at the footer of my website. My assessors said it was easy and simple to use as all you have to do is click the icon and you'll be taken to another page that opens my Instagram photography account. 

For my audio I used background music for my website to create a cinematic atmosphere and my assessors said this was one of the best elements. I was told that it tied together the whole page and fit the mood well, allowing the viewer to have something to listen. 

One of my strongest elements was interactivity as my page had a total of three slideshows and my photos allowed people to hover over them to show sentences I wrote about them. There is also an option to showcase more of my photos and the play button at the bottom of my page that plays the music can be paused. My assessors said these features were good for the marketers and promoters to feel slightly more connected to my website. 

In terms of improvements I was told that I could have considered placing a video on my website. This was something I considered before, perhaps showing how I go about taking my photos and my editing process on Adobe Photoshop, but in the end I decided against it as I didn't feel like it belonged on a page dedicated to just my photos. It was suggested that I could also do a dropdown menu and have sub categorises in my menu bars, for example > Black & White > Animals.
