He, Bobo Evans and James King are accused of felony murder against a drugstore owner named Nesbitt. Asa Briggs is King’s defendant, Miss Petrocelli is the prosecutor, and O’Brien is Steve’s lawyer. O’Brien doesn’t believe that Steve is innocent, but she does her best in order to prevent Steve getting a death sentence. In the courtroom, many different people are investigated: Zinzi, José, Detective Karyl, Osvaldo and Wendell Bolden. Everyone is also trying to trace back the owner of the stolen cigarettes, because that person would’ve been at the scene and might’ve been involved in the crime. Later, when investigating Osvaldo, they find out that he wasn’t truthful with his testimony, as he lied about being in a gang. Rudy died and Leonard managed to escape. Kenny, one of the bullies, is then sent to jail, where he will later be killed by gunshot by the twin brother of the dead victim (Jacob Carges) because of vengeance.
