Ailyn C. Guarin
BSED Major in English

Hi everyone,
I choose the 1st Principles of Materials Development which "Materials should achieve impact.
Impact is achieved when the materials have a visible effect on students, that's when the students' curiosity, interest, and attention are attracted." And I choose the laptop as a material that fit in this Principles. Because laptops can help students stay organized and remember the school work, the students can easily review their work all in one place, they can edit, change and copy their work, they can also send their work via email. The students can learn writing skills, creativity, communication, and cooperation by using technology in learning, so, it will improve the students’ skills and competencies. The laptops can facilitate the work for both the teachers and the students, they increase the interaction among the students, the teachers, and the parents. The importance of using laptops in education cannot be understated. These machines are ideal for students because they make their studies much easier and more convenient. The days when a student would have to lug home a heavy desktop computer are gone. This is why they are commonly used in schools. Of course, this does not only benefit the students but the school as well.

Mikee Abejero
II BSEd English

I choose the Principle no. 1 Materials should achieve impact. I have here a book of Life and Works of Rizal as a sample of learning materials. As what we can see at the book cover, we can easily identify that it was a historical genre book as it tackles about Rizal. The cover itself captures the interest of the readers because I believe that lots of people are curious about the history of Rizal and the history of our country. Even the young children are being taught by history subjects. The appearance of the book is important aside from its content. The front cover itself will capture the interest of the reader even if they don't know yet what that book is all about. First impression is very important in choosing things especially to those who got easily bored when studying. We need to put extra effort to attract their interest to study, for it is helpful to them as they gain their Learning materials are very helpful in studying, it will leave an impact that will be stored in our hearts and minds.

Simply because of teaching the guitar he/she will have the confidence in themselves that he/she can also do the thing that is taught to them. The guitar is a material that helps to build self -confidence. He/She will gradually practice and by practicing of this he/she will also gain self -confidence. Its like when you master a musical instrument, something strange and amazing happens.

Story books make great teaching-learning materials. For example, a elementary school teacher can use a book like this "The Preschoolers Bible" wherein it summarized the bible and it has graphic or cartoon pictures that catches the attention of the students. A teacher can read this book to the class as a whole, then have students write a brief essay summarizing the book and explaining what they thought of the story. And at the elementary school level, book reports provide a great way to have students engage with the books they read, either individually or together with the class. This kind of learning or developed material is common but really fits to the principle #1 . It was stated there that 'Materials should achieve impact. Impact is achieved when the materials have visible effect on students, that's when the student's curiosity, interest, and attention are attracted.' As for me , this book fits this principle because it attracts the eye or the visual of the students especially in the lower grades because of its designs. As you can see , the book is colored and designed according to its content that's why it catches the attention of the reader or the student. Also it looks like interesting that's why curiosity attacks those people who can see this book. And as a result , they may pay so much attention to it. That's all thank you 😊

It fits in the Principle number 1 which is the "Materials should achieve impact". As a future teacher, we should use an effective way to attract the attention of our students beforehand so that we can assure that they will learn something plus they will feel enjoyed and entertained when we are teaching them because it is colorful and not boring. Using this kind of learning materials makes the students more attentive because as you can see, they don't just read what's written in the flashcard, but they can see visually what it is pertaining. That's all ma'am, thankyou po.

Knowing how to read will be useful for children's schooling in the future especially when they enter kindergarten.

Good Day everyone💛 ,
I prefer to choose among the 16 Principles of Material Development the 1st principle which is "Materials should achieve impact"

Have you ever wondered , why almost all the contest from dancing, singing, painting and writing performance has a criteria of audience impacts or a good impact factor?🤔

It's because impact can get our audiences Interest , curiosity and even attract them to continue on using our works(Learning Materials).

Making my PowerPoint Presentation in extra thrilling using my PC or my phone, can catch my audiences interest. It only means , when they're already attracted , they were able to learn and explore my Learning Material.
Most learners are not good on absorbing knowledge from a written learning materials, (including me)they are mostly learning from the audio visual presentations in front of them . PPT's are so attractive and interesting to use , because it has a lot of features and it's colorful, unlike the written learning materials it has only the written text and sometimes it has no color , most of the students say "it's boring" although it has a knowledge.Since we don't have a printer we can't make a textbooks or a module to presents our works or to learn some lessons . Thanks to PPT because it's very convenient and easy to use , because of it many learners has a ability to access it , whether they connect it to their cellphones , laptop , hologram , projector or even on their TV.😁

PPT permits me to apply images, audio and video to have a more visible impact. These visible and audio cues may also additionally assist me , my co-classmates and my teachers as a presenter and to be extra improvisational and interactive towards the audiences.
Lastly I would like to say, "Impacts has a great deal on learning"😊

I have here a sample devwloped material which is a philosophy book. This book will help the student not just to enhance their intellectual abilities but to help them show their talents. This books offer not just an informative lesson but it offers activities with regards to the lessons that will surely help the students to showcase the talent they have. It will also help students to enhance their communicative skills, for it has a lot of group activities where you needed to interact with your group mates. It also has lesson that surely catch all our attention for it talks about human being. It helps us to show our emotions in the given topic.

Good afternoon everyone . I choose the Principle No. 1. Materials should achieve impact.

There are many kinds of Story book but I will choose Bible Story book. We know that visual aid or story book is one of the great way to catch the attention of our listeners. We all know that the Bible stories can transform life, and can make it beautiful. Short Bible stories for kids are very much effective and these help one to be enhanced. It is surprising that the stories which have been written many years ago remain so contemporary. If your children make the habit of reading these stories then he or she can gain huge knowledge and come to know about the magnificence of the God.
I really love reading Bible stories since I'm a child. Because I know there are many lessons that we can learn and apply into this book. I tried also to teach Bible Story in our Church. I felt happy everytime that I see the children are active and participating in the lessons. As a future educator it i also important that we should know how to gain the interest of our future students. Maybe we can use some types of visual aid or anyting that can gain the attention of our students . Example a teacher can use visual aid so that his/her students easily understand the lessons. I believe that, by using visual aids or story book we can enhance the curiousity, interest and attention of our students.

These reading materials/books are the material I've chosen. There are several meanings associated with the books, one of which being that it gives us knowledge along with past time. Reading brings peace of mind to many people, and I am one of them. I believe the books can be characterized in 3rd principle because, as a prospective educator, I believe the books has a significant impact on a child's learning. They will improve their knowledge of how to read and improve their vocabulary, as a result of this. They will improve their writing skills also as well as their ability to create a variety of works that they may be interested in and use in the future. As a teacher, we will be their guide through the challenges they will experience throughout their education. As writers of their educational journeys, they are likely to face numerous challenges, one of which is their shyness. We need to increase our students' self-esteem and confidence, therefore when we teach, we should constantly make them feel like they can do anything. Support and guide them, it is always preferable if our students learn at the end of the day; it will be the most valuable item they can utilize and remember.

ANGELINE CERINA, BSEd ENGLISH

Good day everyone!, I prefer to choose Principle no. 3. "Materials should help students to develop confidence Build students' self-confidence through activities to encourage them to slightly exceed their abilities by engaging them in tasks that stimulate their self confidence"
I choose Book and journal, these materials in which the students experience a potentially engaging text, respond to it personally and then focus on a particular feature of the text in order to make discoveries about it. For example, the students read about a student whose parents gave him a graduation party. They then discussed the reasons why the parents gave him the party and the reasons he was reluctant to attend it Next one half of the class analysed the father's use of the interrogative and the other half analysed the use of the imperative. They came together in groups to share their discoveries and then they wrote a version of the text in which the mother (rather than the father) tried to persuade the son to attend the party.
As a future educator, we can use a text-driven approach in which the starting point for developing each unit is a potentially engaging spoken or written text. First of all devise readiness activities which help the learners to activate their minds prior to experiencing the text, We give the learners an holistic focus to think about when experiencing the text and we also invite them to articulate their personal responses to the text before going on to use it to stimulate their own language production. We can also use these for an experiential approach in which the learners are first of all provided with an experience which engages them holistically. From this experience they learn implicitly without focusing conscious attention on any particular features of the experience. Later they re-visit and reflect on the experience and pay conscious attention to features of it in order to achieve explicit learning. This enables the learners to apprehend before they comprehend and to intuit before they explore. And it means that when they focus narrowly on a specific feature of the text they are able to develop their discoveries in relation to their awareness of the full context of use. Rather than drawing the learners attention to a particular feature of a text and then providing explicit information about its use it is much more powerful to help the learners (preferably in collaboration) to make discoveries for themselves. These materials can grow and build their confidence.

#1. Materials should achieve impact. As a future educator we should have attractive presentation and appealing content to our target learners. Achieving students interest, curiosity and attention can make them feel at ease the way they comprehend the learnings. As you can see im holding a shoe with plant. Relating the topic into something enable the students to think more deeply and in a lasting ways than a lecture can provide. We should know the relevance of what we want to say and what they're interested in. Relevant learning means effective learning, and that alone should be enough to get us rethinking our learning materials. Students need a personal connection to the material, whether that’s through engaging them emotionally or connecting the new information with previously acquired knowledge. Without that, students may not only disengage and quickly forget, but they may also lose the motivation to try.So lets think more about the powerful way to make the discussion meaningful by achieving materials that has an impact.

Many people or students are doing paintings because they use this as their reliever or just to ease their pain and many students felt comfortable doing it and most especially boost their confidence. We all know that using art as a material for students development helps them to support art education that connects students with their own culture as well as with the wider world. Because of art materials students discovered their talents and helps the students to be more active on class. It also helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.
