He was executed in 1989 by the State of Alabama after being convicted of the murder of Rena Mae in 1978. It hadn't been his intention, and the court failed to mention his trauma and history in the military. During the attempted robbery, a woman was shot but not killed. Ian turned himself in to the police but he was still charged as an adult with armed robbery and attempted murder. Ian took accountability and pleaded guilty, but he was sentenced to life imprisonment without possibility of parole despite being so young and no one actually dying. Thankfully, he was released before he was put to death.

She accidentally killed two people by setting a house fire, but she wasn't capable of having any intent to kill.
