I believe this book was good because the book was about Manjiro's adventure to become a samurai. He gets caught with Americans and has to figure his way out by working with them by catching whales. But he believes becoming a samurai from a whale hunter is hard to do. The writing style was ok. It was kind of confusing when reading at first because you were put right in the story. and also the chapters and sections that were made were weird. I think this book is believable because the adventure Manjiro took.
