The question I asked was "Why was the holocaust orchestrated in the first place?" The answer I found was that many people were against Jews and Hitler's popularity as a strong leader increased and then in (1941–1944) the Nazis were particularly susceptible to Nazi propaganda and incitement linking “the Jews” to the “Communist” or “Bolshevik” threat. It will help to know the cause of the holocaust to understand night.

Who was Hitler before the holocaust? Well before he wanted to be an artist believe it or not.
He didn't wish to follow in his fathers footsteps of being a civil servant. He went to secondary school but eventually dropped out. He went out to pursue his dream of being an artist but was rejected by the Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts. Some time after that his mother passed away and he moved to Vienna. At first he was making and selling his art but he became lonely and isolated and then became interested in politics. And that's where his story kinda went down hill, how he started forming ideas of 'fixing' things, on creating the Nazis.

It wasn't just because of his beliefs. It was also his ideas on the matter and the fact that he was really good at his job. They believed he had the solution to show the world that they(Germany) was just as great and powerful. Since they lost world war 1. That he could prove that they were powerful and should be feared as well. The people believed he could deliver that and he did. Not in a good way but in a way that is what they wanted, well the political people did of course, not everyone wanted it. Does this make sense? Sorry if it seems like choppy information.

One of the questions I had was " At what age were kids considered to be too young to work in the concentration camps?" What I found was any child under the age of 13 were killed because they were found "unable to work". This was very surprising to me because these kids were so harmless. This helps me understand Night a bit more because now I understand why Elie had to lie about his age, and it gives me a better understanding of why they were killing all those children and infants in the beginning of the book. This is kinda hard for me too process and I do think this is another important factor why the Holocaust should be remembered.

One of my questions was, what was the difference between concentration camps and extermination camps under the Nazi regime? I learned that a concentration camp was the generic term for prison camps. Labor camps were those that were maintained for the purpose of exploiting slave labor for Germany’s war effort. Extermination camps were six camps located in Poland where the mass murders of Jews and others took place. This will help my learning and reading of Night because it clears up most of my questions about where this was all taken place and the setting of the book.

One of the questions I asked was: Did Hitler have any life experiences that caused his antisemitism? Of course, even if he did, his actions were never justified or even close. What he did was monstrous and no amount of pain in his own life could ever justify it. What I found was that antisemitism was around thousands of years before Hitler, and he most likely got his hatred environmentally watching others. Jews--though there were other minority groups attacked--were the target of discrimination long before the Holocaust, but it did not reach the point it did before Hitler stepped in and confused and manipulated the public. "Most historians believe that Hitler came up with this explanation in hindsight. He would have used it to assure people who were not yet convinced of his ideas that they would eventually see the light." (Anne Frank House) This helps my understanding of the Holocaust, because it allows me to understand that Hitler purely made up his explanations of why Jews should be hated to twist the public and get into a place of power.

The answer to this question was yes, there were some revolts in a concentration camp called Treblinka where the prisoners had accessed a key a kinda of gun room and rebelled against the guards. 300 people made it alive out of the camp but only 100 made it to freedom and escaped a manhunt to recapture them.
