Whit the A agreement, he can make Oliver work as much as he wants and he doesn’t have to give him necessary food and drink. When Oliver has just arrived at Mrs. Sowerbury’s house, his wife  complains about how small and thin he is, and he has started to live in their stone cellar. They give Oliver some food which was left from the dog. But the young boy thinks that he is lucky because he was alive and he wasn’t hired as a chimney sweep.

In 1836 he married Catherine Hogarth and had ten children with her. He also served as a reporter and published his own newspaper.
