Over the years , I've come to enjoy the the accessibility and affordability of our public transportation system. I love how everything from the MRT stations to bus interchanges are spread around the island. I kid you not , they are everywhere , which makes travelling around hassle free. I can remember when I was in the Philippines , whenever we had to travel from place to place , it was so troublesome. I would have to take a jeep to a bus terminal , queue up to buy a ticket and then board the bus. In the more rural areas , the were barely any busses or trains that serviced these areas , so I'd either have to take a jeep or a taxi to get to a place that does. There surely is a stark contrast between the transportation system in Singapore and the ones abroad. Most MRT stations or bus stops are within a walking distance of my home and, by simply tapping my ezlink card , I can just board a train and travel to most parts of Singapore if I wished. As a student, travelling around is also really cheap.
