I would maybe add an activity for more of the middle school/high school grades. I like that there are activities for grades K/1 & 4/5, but what about middle school & high school? They still learn about plot/settings, just in a more in-depth manner:)
All in all, great presentation tho!!

I think that I would change the 4th grade activity to a lower grade. It is a great idea but I think that 4th graders, especially for a chapter book, would be able to do a little bit higher activity than filling out a graphic organizer. Using that same graphic organizer with multiple different stories in a round robin type activity would be good as an intro plot/setting activity.

I would probably make the fifth grade activity the to a readers theatre and not just reading the text. Once they get to fifth grade they can understand more and are more capable of doing more with the text such as readers theatre. I would have the students do these readers theatre in different leveled groups. Overall, all the lessons had great points and good activities.

I would add more in depth analyzation questions to the 4th grade activity. 4th graders can be pushed a little more to stretch their thinking. The activity is fine, just needs more questions to push their understanding of the plot and setting. I would also move the 5th grade theater bit to 3rd grade. 5th graders would have the best understanding of plot and setting and can handle harder activities. Those that have less understanding may do better from acting it out and seeing it in front of them.

I would maybe change the first grade lesson to something more interactive, I think having them make their own graphic organizer would be a lot, maybe even adjusting it so students are drawing little doodles of plot and setting and then adding a few words with each picture. I really like how you have the class come together at the end to create a main graphic organizer, that will also help students fill in any important information they missed.

Something that could be added to the 5th grade lesson could be after reading the story and identifying the plot and setting, having students identify how the story would change if the plot and setting changed. Then afterwards, put on a play regarding the story and the changes they made. This could connect student understanding of plot in general and how it affects the storyline.

I would add a procedure section to the kindergarten lesson so that it is more clear what the teacher is actually doing during the lesson. As the teacher, I would write on a sticky note the questions/prompts that I wanted to ask my students on the pages of the book. I would call on different students to answer the questions or incorporate a "turn and talk" so everyone participates.

I would add a drawing activity to the Kindergarten lesson. Younger learners would be able to best express their knowledge through drawings. They could draw a picture of the characters, setting, or a scene. The teacher might also lead a small discussion about the background of the book to this age group.
