I sometimes question why applications or other things ask about your ethnicity or race. well the Chicano movement allows you to identify yourself as a Chicano. the question is why does it matter what ethnicity or race you are. In my opinion I think were all the same. I myself identify as a Mexican/Chicana girl and I love embracing my culture. when I say embracing my culture there is many ways you can identify yourself as one. In fact Dolores created  the Agricultural Workers Association  in 1960 and co-founded the United Farm Workers. Dolores fought really hard and barely somewhat got not many recognition because back then not everyone was united. Dolores was fighting for unity. I have respect for Dolores because she fought for people like some family members that I have that work as farm workers. By what I've seen Dolores needs more recognition like the bust of Cesar Chavez that Joe Biden has at his office.  I think she needs more recognition because she worked with Chavez many times. They were partners for doing good protests and fighting for the same thing.

The Zoot Suit is related to Chicanos because the ones that experienced the discrimination was the story about the Chicano's who were accused of the murders that so what called is "The Sleepy Lagoon" they arrested these Chicano's because supposedly they were "suspicious" since they were always late out at night. In my opinion that right there is discrimination because there could be many different people of different races walking by late at night and now it every little details matter and they can arrest anyone with a warrant on why they are suspicious back then the law didn't care. I do celebrate El Dia De Los Muertos because I do believe we should make a Altar honoring those who have passed away, you may ask how you honor them? you start off by putting a picture of them and a glass of water or there favorite things. not only that but you put cempasuchil flowers because that's how they cross over on El Dia De Los Muertos. for a good example that shows how it is celebrated is the movie ":Coco" . I Love that movie because it truly shows how its celebrated. I don't know why the president or any laws that allow   a plan so they don't have to risk them selves and there kids life. The Overall message is saying that there was never freedom for them the quote says   ¨(There's never been equality for me, Nor freedom in this "homeland of the free.")”. mainly the group of people that get talked about in this poem is the black community and he shares the struggles they have. I think it's important for everyone to be treated with no discrimination at all and everyone to respect each other. It's important to give back the same energy someone gives you.
