I really liked the Flex Model because it was truly mastery based and individualized. Students did not have to waste their time learning things they already knew, they could prove mastery and move forward, accelerating their learning. However, this model is difficult to implement if it is not something structured and set up ahead of time. Therefore, I would rather apply the station rotation model to my classroom. This model is easier to implement with the pre-existing set-up of the school schedule. It gives the teacher the flexibility within the classroom to set up multiple stations and give more one-on-one time or small group time to students who really need it. I would even differ the teacher led station depending on which group of students I was working with, and would set the students into like-ability groups.

I liked the different models they explained. It was a refresher for me, but we are currently doing some of these in the classroom already. I'm interested to get the students working together more and learning how to communicate with each other to get through a project.

I only watched the Khan Academy videos, so didn't get a chance to experience all the resources. Of the Khan Academy videos, I like the flex model the best; it seems to have the most benefit for students (the most differentiated for them), but also seems like a lot of work and planning for teachers, so would require some training and practice.
2. I'm trying to apply more station work in my teaching now (I do stations about once a week), but they're not skill-level specific. I think that could be a big improvement.

I read the articles on "Happiness" and "Growth Mindset". In the first article, I learned that it is important to teach students that success is not necessarily linked to stress and anxiety. In fact, we could all benefit from learning the importance of the calm pleasantness of working steadily on a task. In the second article, I was reminded that students should be proud of themselves rather than seek value and worth determination from outside. Instead, intrinsic motivation can lead to driven, life-long learners.

It has very useful lessons that look engaging and challenging.

I enjoyed watching the video on Stanford University's change from majors to missions. The goal of learning is to specifically identify what societal issue does one want to help conquer. Instead of "education major", it would more be like "I am studying growth mindset, personalized learning, and disciplinary literacy to help eradicate struggling readers in middle school." :) I love that the vernacular has changed: "to create"; "to build"; "to change".

I like the station rotation model. I do NOT "get" the flipped classroom model, which I know is not officially blended learning. I just think it's unrealistic to expect students to get the instruction outside of the classroom, after school, at home. Back to the blended learning models, I like the idea that if a student shows mastery they can move on to what they need, but I don't see how it is feasibly possible for us to manage all of that. It's hard enough managing the classroom the traditional way. I don't see how it could be easier managing 100+ individual progressions.
