With this being one of his best traits, it also comes along with patience. Patience is important in the role that he is playing, because there are many instances where I can see myself getting very frustrated.

While he is expected to be a very well rounded thinker, his strengths are in engineering and agriculture. Sure it is a weird mix, but it comes in handy for him in the long run. With his engineering skills he is able to fix anything and everything that goes wrong in the Hab or any of the other equipment. While his agriculture skills aid him in knowing how to grow food in terrible conditions.

Mark is a very positive person when it comes to getting something done against lots of odds like when he decides to try and start to modify the rover to drive a long distance, even though he is almost certain it will fail he continues with lots of hope.
