2009: the first Twilight Saga movie gets released

It's a rainy Saturday and I'm sitting in the living room with my mom. My dad is elsewhere in the house, or out and about and my brother is gaming in a different room. My mom and I are sitting in a reclined seat on our preferred couch and we've just started the first movie. The house is a little cold and has a bit of a cool light since the sunlight coming in the windows is gray. "I've never given much thought to how I would die. But dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go." says off-screen Bella. My mom and I spend the day watching the series and calling out red flags while we watch. Now though, the Twilight Saga is nearly impossible to find, Netflix removed it, and Peacock keeps putting it on their platform for limited times, like what McDonald's does with the McRib.

This song has been ingrained in many people my ages brain, that I've met anyway. Just a few lyrics, just the sound, or even this era of Justin. This song was performed by one of the groups in a lip sync competition at a Speech and Debate comp when I was in junior high. I remember sitting in the gymnasium at the school with all the speech and debate kids (some dramatically some not) singing the lyrics to one song, and a bunch of Carthage kids telling Camila to go off when she was singing all the lyrics in the rap part. One thing about speech and debate is everyone is in dress clothes, but you bring a change of clothes for after, like sweats and a hoodie or something. I had thought I was done so I had already changed into sweats by then. But, what I didn't account for was joining my friends in a lip sync and dance of Careless Whisper and proceeding to win against the other 3 or so groups. Including the one who performed Baby.

Dance Moms is easily one of the more iconic shows out in the US. Unfortunately its been out of production for years, however we still have a few good seasons from it. This is one of the shows that me and my best friend will put on and watch while we read tarot cards, play a game, make bracelets, or talk. Sometimes someone will say something a bit out of pocket and our attention gets drawn from the beads to the crazy moms on screen and Abby's "explosive" personality.

Whenever you are sick, there's always something that comforts you, whether that be food or movies or something of that sort. This series is one of those things for me. I am prone to getting sick more often than most of my family, and I remember watching these movies, or sitting up late at night making bracelets and watching the series. Another thing I sometimes do is shove both of our futons together and put a comforter, pillows, and other blankets in there and it makes a sort of nest. The movies make me happy. One day, it´ll be considered one of those “old” movies few want to watch.

While I'm scrolling through my YT music to find what to listen to when I remember I have the AM album downloaded. I scroll to it and hit play, and then the guitar in "Do I Wanna Know?" starts playing. When listening to one of their favorite bands, we sing as anyone would. My friend and I are singing these lyrics that we know by heart until my dad hops back in the car and we head to the haunted house. We both love Arctic Monkeys and love every song by them, however, they are only going to produce one more album after The Car, and then they will disband.

Driving down the street by Braums and the Arvest listening to this song on a warm summer’s day with everyone in the car singing along. Or in a band fundraiser video and it's to the tune of the song. Everyone is smiling or snickering a little because the song is a bit cringy but it's still fun. This song has disappeared from videos and it is no longer as prevalent.

The scene where she was remembering skating with friends was very relatable for me then. Seeing it become bittersweet instead of just happy or sad is just something I could see myself in. I never skated, but this came out the year I had moved from Belton and no longer lived just down the street from my best friend. I'd known her since pre-school. Back then I could at least see her once or twice a year, or I could contact her.

Since it's so late I have to speak quieter than normal, which causes a friend of mine and I's voices to become indiscernible to the third for some reason. "Who just said that" became a recurring theme of the night. One of us can't get imposter ever. Every single game he gets crewmate, as his frustration increases. Eventually, we call it a night, around 2 am when I just entirely pass out.

This song played a pivotal role in 2019 for me. For one, my cousin, Alekzander, and my brother, Luca, would not stop singing this song. They were insanely obsessed with this song, not a first for either of them. In the car we would have to listen to it at least once, and while I liked this song at first, that didn't last long. Second, they played this song at an end-of-school assembly at Columbian Elementary. It was a gym cram packed with K-4th grade kids all waiting to be dismissed from the assembly and they start playing this song. It becomes a gym full of singing K-4th kids very quickly.

Another song was one called something like Coco Chanel. Roxanne was one too. We practically grew up together until 2nd grade when I moved but even then we still kept in touch and saw each other multiple times a year. I remember once I was going over to her house, maybe before 7th or 8th grade, and we went downstairs. The lights were off because the natural light was enough, but it was a little bit cooler since it was downstairs. We were near the base of the steps and you could see the sunlight streaming in from the skinny windows on the sides of the front door. But we were sitting down there talking and I remember she had the show about Gypsy Rose on Hulu pulled up on her phone and we were semi-watching that but mainly catching up. Unfortunately, I haven't seen or heard from her in a while.

I want to perform a smooth improv solo at a jazz festival. I'm in a jazz combo band that relies heavily on solos to lengthen the song, so I'll be practicing often, but the goal is to improve my tone in jazz and how well I can improv. Otherwise, it's making it to a leadership role within the band for the next school year.
