         <description><![CDATA[<div>in the early 1900s vinyl records were born! designed to be played using a gramophone, vinyl records consisted of a 12" vinyl plate that contained grooves, as the plate spins a needle follows the grooves causing vibrations that are then relayed and amplified through the gramaphones speaker. vinyl were cheaper to produce in comparison with cylinder recordings. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thomas Edison was the creator of the first instrument that could record the human voice. The phonograph. using thick tinfoil wrapped to a cylinder as cartridge and a stylus needle to emboss the vocal recording. phonographs use a wind up crank mechanism to turn the cylinders for embossing and playback. this is a copy edisons first phonograph recording recording. <br><br>This invention simply set the foundations of Music Today. From the phonograph we are able to understand how to record music and then play music back at an amplified level. without this invention future technologies may have never existed</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jimmy Saville was the first Man to use two turntables side by side to allow for continuous flow of music at his Dance Parties. This started the evolution of the typical DJ we know today.<br><br>By using two turntables it allowed one track to play and as the track is coming to an end, the needle drops on the second track and the music continues. DJs are the Hands the shape the music through a performance. this concept of using two turntables influenced new styles of DJing in later years such as scratch.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>designed by Mr A. Rosner for the resident DJ (Francis Grasso) at Haven nightclub, New York.&nbsp;<br><br>This Invention was named Rosie after its colour. up until this invention, Djs would only have access to Mono Mixers. Stereo mixers did not exist but Rosner saw opportunity for a stereo mixer. Particularly in night clubs, which at this time in new York the club scene was a booming business.<br><br>Rosie consists of two faders for left disk &amp; right disk that aloud control over volume level output for each track. By using two headphone amplifiers it aloud a cueing system. This was vital for synchronicity when Beat matching. being able to hear the upcoming track to match it to the current playing track.&nbsp;<br>Rosie set manufacturers in motion to start producing mixers with cue technology, essential for precise beat matching.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The technics sl 1200 have been the industry standard ever since.<br><br>up until this model most turntables were built on a belt-drive systems, over time the belt would wear and scratch DJ's in particular would cause a lot of erosion to the belt drive. the 1200's worked on a direct motor system which was more robust but also kept continuous pace through playtime, unlike belt systems that could slip and cause timing errors.<br><br>This feature left many manufacturers following the design and reliability of the direct drive system.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Now advancing into the digital age, DJs needed the tools to roll with the times. serato scratch was the key. allowing turntable-lists to use a computer software to sync mp3 to a host vinyl.&nbsp;Digital, in some peoples eyes is the way forward. Now a DJ can carry a usb stick with tens of thousands of tracks all in compact for. traditionally a DJ would physically take all his cases of vinyl for a set. this is a more practical for the way technology is advancing. since the release of serato many manufacturers have built software compatIble controllers and mixers. this enables a quick Plug and Play set up.</div>]]></description>
