(Emily)

Last year, I interviewed for a job as an ESL teacher, which was my first interview. I was very nervous because I love learning English and want to share that knowledge with others.

To prepare, I worked hard to show off my English skills. I researched the school on social media to know inside and out. Luckily, I passed the written test and was invited for an in-person interview.

However, the night before the interview, I couldn’t sleep because my nerves were kicking in. This caused me to wake up with a headache, and I had trouble focusing during the interview. I made some careless mistakes and couldn’t show how fascinated I was about the job.

At first, I thought I did well and believed they would contact me with an offer. But after waiting and waiting, I never heard back. I reflected on why I didn’t get the job and realized I hadn’t shown enough enthusiasm.

I learned an important lesson from this experience. Next time, I will prepare better and find ways to manage my nerves. I applied this lesson in a later interview and successfully got the job.

(Aung Thu)

I want to review the scene from The Fast and Furious. "Fast and Furious" is an exhilarating action film that revolves around street racing, heists, and the family theme.

In this scene, there is a battle between Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), a skilled street racer, and cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker). In a pivotal scene, Dom and Brian face off in a street race to assert dominance and establish their respect for one another. The race takes place through Los Angeles streets, illuminated by neon lights. As the engines roar, the atmosphere crackles with tension. All of the storylines, scripts, acting, and soundtrack are great.

One bad thing is the lighting and quick cuts can make it difficult to follow the action.

"Fast and Furious" is a pulse-pounding ride filled with thrilling action and strong character dynamics. Despite its minor flaws, the film successfully captures the scene of street racing and the bonds of family. For fans of action films and car culture, this movie is a must-see.

(Emily)

“Me Before You” is one of the most romantic drama films released in 2016 based on the novel by Jojo Moyes. It stars as Emilia Clarke as Louisa Clark, a cheerful young woman who becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor, played by Sam Claflio, a wealthy man left paralyzed after a motorcycle accident. The film explores their developing relationship and rises themes of love, choice, and quality of life.

Initially, Will was bitter and closed off, but Lousia’s positivity gradually breaks through his walls. As they spend time together, Louisa learns that Will has plans to end his life through assisted suicide in Switzerland, feeling that his quality of life is no longer acceptable. Lousia determined to show him that life is still worth living, she takes him to new experiences and helping him rediscover joy.

The film brings the themes like love, disability, and meaning of a fulfilling life, prompting deep emotional responses to viewer. Louisa and Will deliver powerful performances, bringing depth to their characters and their evolving relationship.

Although some argue that the film reinforces negative stereotypes about living with disabilities, particularly through Will’s decision at the end.

Overall, “Me Before You” is heartfelt romantic drama that effectively explores themes of love, choice, and the complexities of living with disability. If you enjoy romance that delves into serious themes and character growth, it is worth watching. However, be prepared for some emotional intensity and consider how the film handles its paralyzed of disability.
