Pure is the Monash University research management system which provides you with information about your grants, contracts, research outputs and research profiles. Pure is the publicly available Profile of your research expertise and career and in most cases it is in the top results on google searches. Pure is the central collation point for all your research related information and activities, and it is important to ensure you research gets out there.

Pure enables easy, simple reuse of information for funding applications, CVs, and reporting. Pure you can:

2. Access information about awarded grants and contracts

3. Capture research outputs

4. Record prizes and distinctions

2. Is my information on Pure correct, up to date, purposeful?

3. What message does my information give about me?

4. Who do I think will be accessing this information?

5. What information is outdated and needs to be removed

6. Do I want to include my current CV on Pure?

7. Is the information in my Orcid ID correct or not?

8. Is the information in my SCOPUS profile updated or not?

2. Do you know that you need to contact E-solutions to update your informatoin if needed.

2. Scroll down to find the link that says: Update my personal details.

3. Submit a service request or call them directly.

Your Monash page should be updated regularly. Let's do a quick health-check.

1. When did you last check your Monash webpage? Let's go there now and see how you are doing. Take down some points to work on later as you improve it.

2. See if the information there in your blurb is relevant, up-to-date and neatly curated.

3. Are there changes that need to be made to your Pure Profile?

4. Does your MIDS need to be updated?

5. Do you want to add a resume to your profile? Remember to update your resume at least twice a year here.

6. Have you checked your ORCID ID and SCOPUS PROFILE? There might be outdated information there. There are links on your Monash page to both of them. Also, ensure what you are saying across these three platforms is the same.

7. It would be good to do a quick check every six months of this page. Add it as a twice-a-year reminder to your calendar.

8. Why are we doing this? This is your most official representation of who you are and your work. Those at Monash and around the world, check your webpage when they are looking you up. So if it's outdated, you are selling yourself short.

   
   

1. Is this really necessary? Yes, when Monash people are looking to find cross-departmental/faculty/school members in common research/interest areas, they check here.

2. Look at your page? Does anything need to be updated?

3. What kind of profile pic have you added? Is it recent?

4. What kind of background pic have you added? Does it speak about your research interests and who you are? Be creative. I've used a word cloud for myself. Check it out. You go with your own creativity.

5. How recent was your last post? What was it about?

6. Are you just using this to receive information or do you share information?

7. What kind of narrative are you building up for yourself here at the internal communication level?

1. Go to Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com.au/

2. Look yourself up.

3. Click on my profile on the top right-hand corner.

4. Check and see if your details are up to date: Email address, areas of interest, affiliation, webpage etc.

5. Organise by year and check the titles of your publications to see if they are yours (not someone else's work).

6. Do you want to put a spotlight on one of your pieces of work here in LinkedIn, Academia and/or Research Gate?

7. Have you put a link of your Google Scholar on your Monash Web page?

8. Does the work listed here also correlate with the work being shown on LinkedIn, ResearchGate and/or Academia?

1. Now you are becoming good at thinking about your outward facing self. Well done!

2. Just to further enhance who you are its worth checking any or all of these platforms to see how updated your information is.

3. Remember consistency of message, relevance, timeliness and correctness are all important criteria to keep in mind.

4. You are letting the world know: Who you are and showcasing your work. This is an important messaging that we would like you to invest into and amplify your voice at Monash, within Australia and across the world.

1. Do a name check for yourself on this platform and see what's being said about you.

2. Do you have an account and use this platform?

3. Is the background image and profile picture up to date and relevant?

4. Is this account being used for work or personal use or both?

5. Is your brief bio relevant?

6. Are you using this platform to network and amplify/showcase your work?

7. Check your Tweets and see how many have spoken about your work?

8. Check your reTweets and see whether they are related to you and what you stand for and your research interests?

9. Make a plan to tweet at least once a week if you are new to this and for others at whatever level you feel comfortable but always remember what your narrative is and that's what you are focusing on building up for yourself.
