Takeaways: 3 takeaways are that it is important to create a safe classroom environment, SEl lessons can be incorporated into any form of lesson not just SEL by itself, and kids home lives really effect their school life.

Classroom Environment: I learned that it is important to incorporate lots of colors into the classroom, that students enjoy set routines and being prepared for what is going on, and natural light is important to keep students engaged.

Best Classroom Practices: The best classroom practices that I can use are incorporating lots of light into my classroom, greeting my students at the door, incorporating plants for fresh air, and making our daily routine known.

Building Relationships: I plan to build relationships with my students by greeting them at the door, talking about their lives outside of school, and making it known that I can be a safe space for them.

Other Professionals: Other professionals I relate to in schools are reading specialists because even though they are not technically teachers they work with kids in small groups or one on one and help them improve their education.

My Expectations: I met the majority of my expectations. I definitely learned a lot about teaching which is what I wanted. I did not meet my goal of not procrastinating though. This semester has been really hard for me for no reason and I definitely feel behind in getting my work done.

Course Expectations: This course met my expectations because it taught me a lot about teaching and it exceeded my expectations because it taught me about a lot of the behind the scenes of teaching and what goes on above the teachers job.

Suggestions: I can not think of any suggestions to change this course I think it was very informative and fun.
