The task/problem I was given to solve was to make a spaghetti noodle tower from noodles and marshmallows. I believed I helped my team mentally with the ideas. Next time I think I should be there rather than be absent.

Some ideas my group had come up with were some things like this. We thought of two differently structured cubes, one without much of a base, one with a lot of a base. There was another one that we thought of that was like a 3D octagon, it cost the least, but had no support.

For our base, we decided to go with a cube base/square bottom. It was made of 4 noodles and 4 marshmallows. Our budget was 36$ and we used 60 noodles and about 35 marshmallows.

The plan we had went with was the first one that did not cost a ton of money, but slightly got the job done. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach 18 inches since we didn't expect the noodles to be so weak and thin. So our tower didn't even stay up, but I estimate it was about 10-15 inches tall. The hardest part about creating my tower was keeping it up while building. Something easy during the challenge was when we were putting together the bottom, when we were just piecing it together. Since we where unable to create a tower, the things that went wrong was, we did not anticipate for the noodles to be so thin and weak. We also thought the marshmallows would hold a little bit better.

Somethings I would do next time would be to ask the teacher about the materials she would be handing out. I would also try to improve a little bit faster. Based on my experience, we should come up with different options depending on the physical properties of the materials. Rather than going with the cube approach, I should go with more of a pyramid eiffel tower shape.

The noodles that were feeling compression were the vertical ones holding the first and second layer together. The top part was seriously heavy to those noodles.
