The counterpart to West Egg is homes and families will old money, meaning they havent had to worry about money do to their family always having the money. The family living here is Daisy and Tom. New York where everyone goes to have their fun and spend their money. The person living here would be Tom's mistress. However, Gatsby never received this money due to legal tricks to swindle every penny Mr. Cody had.  Gatsby has always been a man striving to reach the next step or higher level, and he didn't care how he got there.  He eventually reached grand heights up the stepping stones of drugs and money laundering.  This shows a lot of Gatsby's characteristics and who he is as a person, his core values.  He doesn't care about the lives of those around him, he destroyed the lives of everyone his "business" touched. By that I mean how much we don't truly know about these characters and their pasts. The next color that jumps out at me would be the color yellow, which has appeared throughout the book representing wealth, a great example would be gatsby's car. This yellow goes to show that wealth is an important and key attribute to this story. The next two colors this story would be red and green and I see it fit to have green last. Red is a very powerful color, it can mean anything from rage and blood to the most profound love. And love is the name of the game with this book due to Tom and Jays conflict over daisy, as well as Nick and Jordan, and even Tom and Myrtle. Love is the driving forces and main focus of this book. Last but most definitely not least we have the color green, which is first introduced as a light across the water that Gatsby reaches for, to Gatsby that light represents where Daisy is. However, that light and color of green represent Gatsby himself, this green is telling the story of wealth but also new and fresh. The green says that Gatsby has wealth but not only that it even says that his wealth is "new money" and not "old money". Gatsby's American dream isn't about all his wealth or power that he accumulated as the stories usually go, what he wanted was the dream more used by Disney of living happily ever after with the women of his dreams. He went and gained all this money based on it is what Daisy wanted to marry into. Now Gatsby isn't the only person going for a dream, we also have Mr. Wilson who has his own business and is doing his dream, not like Disney but like Henry Ford, of starting a business from the ground up. This story truly is how life is the greatest enemy to prosperity and dreams is life and conflict, life is always throwing another curve ball regardless of if you struck out on the last one or hit a grand slam.  In conclusion Gatsbys dream truly was Daisy, he is even quoted as saying “He hadn’t once ceased looking at Daisy and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well-loved eyes. This literature allows the reader to not only relate to Gatsby on finding and getting to love of your life but also Nick for being that friend and every third wheel sometimes, every character has something you can relate and connect to. The idea of how Gatsby wants to be able to give someone everything they wanted is what jumped out to me that I could relate to.  Gatsby has loved Daisy for many years now, and he gained all his wealth and luxury because she wanted to marry a man that had these things.  I relate to this ideology very much because many friends and family in my life deserve to be handed the world, and Gatsby did all he could to give that to those important to him exactly that.
