WEC is implementing additional change ideas that originated from user input.

CEC's change idea allows students to drive their learning journey through "Tiny Projects."

Current approaches are typically whole-school survey focused (DMLK, DC-21, South). Feedback loops from this data are happening sporadically. Unclear on how schools are learning from family / staff users about whether change ideas are yielding positive results.

As mentioned previously, each school is taking their own approach to embedding user voice within their process. That said, schools seem to be prioritizing survey / advisory methods that allow them to hear the voices of "all students."

Bruce and WEC prioritizing family voice through AFTTs and community design teams, respectively

As a hub team, we can go further in our role of organizing the work of the NIC and setting expectations. Regarding user voice, I think we should set expectations, recognizing that timelines for schools to meet expectations may vary. We can set an ideal near term view of what user voice should look like. Here are some ideas for expectations:
All schools involve students on design teams (consider how to involve SVL students themselves or in selection process for younger students).
Students involved in change ideation for design improvement - both in planning and studying current and new change ideas.
Students make predictions and contribute to learning questions from the student perspective.
Students get involved in peer-to-peer empathy work.
Give students the floor first before adults.
For convenings, involve students on Personal Experience Panels (see National Equity Project)
And I'm sure there's more...
