Text to Text: In one of the books from the Mortal Instruments serie, City of Bones, a character named Jace finds out that his father is the bad guy named Valentine Morgenstern. Jace then, almost immediately, starts thinking back to all the things he’s done that could’ve been considered mean or evil. His personality changes and he pushes his friends away thinking that he’s no longer one of them, he thinks that he’s the bad guy. He's been told that he’s the son of a monster and believes that he is too. Just like Steve Harmon, Jace becomes more and more convinced that he’s the bad one, because everyone is telling him that he is.

There are two people who testified for King; Dorothy Moore and George Nipping. Dorothy couldn’t prove that King was with her when the robbery and murder happened and George’s testimony didn’t make King look any less guilty. O’Brien believes that in order to prove that Steve is innocent, she needs to separate him from King in the jury’s eyes and to do that, Steve needs to go up on the stand and testify. After practicing the right way to answer the questions that will be asked on the stand, Steve testifies. Mr. Sawicki testifies too, he says that Steve really is good guy and that it’s possible that Steve was filming a project for his class during the stick up. O’Brien, Briggs and Petrocelli each say their closing arguments, then it’s all up to the jury to decide who they believe is guilty. The jury’s verdict is that Steve is innocent and that King is guilty. Even tough they won the case, O’Brien turns away from Steve when he wants to hug her. The distance between Steve and his dad keeps growing, but Steve’s mom and Jerry got back to treating him like they did before the trial. Still, Steve doesn’t know who he is anymore.
